110 Volt Outlet Acting Funny

So we own a 2018 Ford Explorer Sport, and I decided to plug my laptop into it for a long car ride. It worked perfectly fine both ways, even at the highest performance levels. I tried it on a second trip, and after a few minutes, the light started flashing indicating it exceeded the volt/watt limit. I didn’t do anything different, if anything I was probably using less power because I didn’t have my cooling pad plugged in that time. Now a third trip, I plug it in and the light instantly starts flashing, that time I did have the cooling pad, however, I had it at the lowest performance level, meaning it shouldn’t of used as much volts charging. Yet, the first time, it was perfectly fine. Should I have it looked at. I am a student at a vocational school for automotive repair, so should I get it fixed there if it is an internal problem, or is it something that needs special technicians to fix.

How much current does the laptop draw? The power outlet's limit is 150 watts. If the hard drive was running and the display turned up, it might bump into that limit.

Apologies for the late reply. I am unsure how much power it uses, but I can try turning down the fan speed or brightness next time I use it in the car
