I've been wanting to do that to mine too. The rest of the explorer is silver and black, except those are chrome too like yours.

Idea to have my 16 explorer sport chrome exhaust port powder coated gloss black to match rest of accents. Damn near the only thing on it thats chrome.

Send tips with 600 grit and paint them with flat black to match textured bumper.
Or never wash them, drive your car hard enough to build up black sut.

Plastidip it, if you don't like it, you can remove it. It holds up fine Acording to youtube reviews.Did you ever do this? If so please post pics. I may do the same on my silver exp
