Trans popped reverse a while back. Finances indicated we fix it rather than find another used vehicle.
Full rebuild, shifts great...except park.
Wife has arthritis issues, and now we can't get it all the way into park. Just enough to allow key removal. And it IS in park....but the lever just doesn't go "home", indicator not quite "there" either. Other gears line up normally on quadrant.

I can hear a light clank under the vehicle if you do this door open and shift it, like a bracket loose.

Looked at all sorts of diagrams, cannot see how that could be.
This isn't a "can't get it out of park" scenario.
I have difficulty any more getting under cars. I may have to run it up ramps and just do it.
Going to swing by trans shop this week. Phone call indicates the brake/shift interlock, but never seen that for difficulty getting INTO park.
If that is a problem, where is the override? Non-tilt, column shifted 2WD. Had he bottom covers and instrument cluster out Sunday for a bulb change, no holes or ports or swing-aside doors for ease of access.
Google seems to studiously ignore 99's. Lots of 2012 and newer.

Found out how to override....key first notch, brakes, shift out of park.

Park issue is in trans. You can hold it in park, light pressure, let the car roll and it drops right in.
Apparently spring-loaded rod for parking pawl or ball is not functioning right....scheduled Monday back at trans shop.
