Hello all, I just bought a 2004 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 and this morning it did some weird stuff. When I turned the key over it just clicked and would not turn over but had full battery. I then shifted into neutral and it did the same thing. Then it wouldn't shift into park but after multiple tries it did start and shift into park just fine. I drove to work and it went right into park and started normally. I have read that there are issues with BSI on this model and just wondering if I should replace it or if I need to worry about other things.

Realize this is very old post but did you ever resolve? Just bought a 2004 with similar problem. Thanks!

Same issue on 2004 EB: shifts smoothly sometimes, other times I need to depress brake harder or shift back to D, then P. Very finicky.
