I have a 2005 Ford Explorer. The engine failed. I am rebuilding it with a friend and almost done. We pulled the oil pan and found plastic pieces in it. They seem to have come from a chain at the lower rear drivers side of the engine. I believe this chain powers the oil pump. The chain and sprockets seem in good shape but the tensioner is destroyed. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out exactly what that tensioner and plastic piece are called so don’t have a part number to order.
Hoping someone can help.
