Hi, Newbie here. Having what I'm hearing is a fairly common issue with cracked exhaust manifold (right or passenger side) on my vehicle. The dealership wants more than the value of the vehicle to repair. They say they will have to remove the engine to get at the studs that are almost always broken (or will break during extraction). I have watched a couple YouTube videos showing the way to repair, but it is beyond my abilities. Anybody know a good shop in Eastern Massachusetts or even Rhode Island that would be familiar with this repair. I would like to replace right and left sides at the same time if possible.

Thanks,

I fixed that on my 2008 sport trac in the driveway during winter in Michigan!
I had 3 broken studs on the passenger side. I bought super cheap $150. arc welder and a special alloy rod for just such projects basically you weld a nut to the broken stud and simple screw it out. I worked mostly thru the wheel well. I’d be lying if I said it was easy but doable.
