I have a 2013 Ford Explore Limited. I purchased it used about 5 months ago. We had to replace the battery this weekend and now every time I open a door, the horn honks twice. When I get out, close the door and arm it, the horn honks once. It never did this before I replaced the battery. I've checked the manual and I don't see anything in there about disabling the honking. Side note - the dealership told me I have an aftermarket alarm. I have zero info about it as it was already installed when I purchased the vehicle. I have the intelligent access Ford key fobs - no separate alarm remotes. Anyone know how to fix this?

I’m having the same issue, just bought it (yesterday actually) and it double honks every time I unlock It, if it’s unlocked and I open A door etc. only a single honk when I lock it. Already annoyed, and I’m sure it won’t be long before the neighbors are too

One idea for both of you - and this is a long shot: take the positive battery cable off of your battery for 10 minutes. Reattach. Then see if the condition still exists. I’ve done this with some of my electrical/programming gremlins in the past with amazing results.

Good luck!!!

ForScan can turn those off. Once the oven/sauna abates here, my ST will get much visitation from ForScan. As for disconnecting battery cables, replacing the battery pretty much takes care of that. I've had battery disconnects restore annoying traits.
