I'd like to see some pics of shift knobs- different years, different models?
I've looked online but can't find any close ups that are good enough.
Backstory-
My shifter was messing up ('shift to park' error) so my local dealer replaced it. When I got my car back... the shifter is totally the wrong one! 1. It does not match any of my interior like the old one did and 2. it has buttons for shifting on the side which my old one didn't (I have paddle shifters on my steering wheel) AND of course, the buttons aren't even hooked up. WHY would I want that in my car and who thought that was a fair replacement is beyond me!
Anyways, I called them yesterday evening about it and am waiting to hear back from them.
I'm just trying to figure out what they gave me... Is it from a different year or trim model?

Sounds like they put a limited model shifter in yours. Incorrect, bring it back!

I believe you're right. They did answer us finally and replaced it with one without the buttons.
It, however, still wasn't the same as my old one. The exact color/ shade of black and leather pattern just wasn't right. But, after several calls, arguments, etc. we gave up. They absolutely could not comprehend what our issue was with the perfectly good shifter they put in (the 2nd time). I still don't think it was the same shifter for my 2013 Sport- maybe a sport but different year, or 2013 but different model. Idk and the pics I got a hold of were limited to try to prove my point.
Overall, it really isn't a big deal now, nobody else can even tell; my husband and I just know that it's different, and mostly- it's gets to us for the principle that we bought a nice, top of the line car but when a part is replaced we're not getting equal top of the line replacement parts, or service (but we knew that from the beginning. If you lived in the area, you'd understand).
