2016 Ford Explorer Seats

Purchased my 2016 Ford Explorer Sport 2 months ago. I love the way it looks, love the drive, hate the seats. They are too small and very uncomfortable. Seat doesn't hold you when making turns and there is not enough thigh support. I am not a big or fat dude. I know I am not the only one that feels this way, but I cant keep going on this way. Does anyone know about replacing the seats on this model? Maybe from an earlier sport model? Would it fit?

What do you dislike about them?

Seat is too small. Im 6'1" there is not enough thigh support. not wide enough either. No support when making a fast turn.
Ah, I see. I'm 5'8", but I guess I can understand how it could be uncomfortable for a larger person.

Agree, I have 2016 Limited and absolutely hate the seats. I'm 5'11 190 lbs and the side bolster digs into my thigh making me nuts.. I wish there was a way to make the seat flat. I think it would help a ton.
Seats are perfect for me...5'10 160lbs...

I find the seats too short. Much more of my legs hang over the front than I'm used to. I'm only 5'11'
I have had my 2015 Ford Explorer Limited for a little over 2 years now. My wife and I both feel that the seats are not comfortable at all mostly because they are too short and don't support our legs. We have driven this car from Florida to Indiana and also several trips to North Carolina. Sitting in this car for more than an hour or two is actually painful! It is very unfortunate because we really like everything else about this car. I even went so far as to upgrade the Sync system to Sync3. We are so disappointed in the seating that we are now looking for another car to buy. I have been a Ford owner since I was 16 years old (I'm now 63) and I will consider buying some other make because of how miserable these seats are. I am going to look at the Flex to see if it has better seating. From pictures I've seen on the internet, it looks like it could be better than what's in the Explorer and Ford pick-ups I've seen, but if they are also too short, I'll get something else.

If i may ask, how, where and how much did you pay for the upgrade to SYNC 3 ? how does it work?

Thanks

It was about 2K$. The company was called Oempartsco.com but now it's infotainment.com. https://www.infotainment.com/collections/all/products/myford-touch-sync-2-to-sync-3-upgrade will get you a sync3 for a 2015 Explorer. I only made the purchase because I was also able to get my 2015 Explorer radio reprogrammed to work in my 2013 Focus. The Focus only had the text directions type gps but now it has a fully functioning mytouch2 system from my Explorer. I did have to make my own mount for the Focus because it was not a perfect fit. I'm glad I did it but it was expensive. I also like that I can now use Glympse in my Explorer. I can also access my Glympse history so I can easily re-send Glympse messages to destinations that I've already sent them for.
Our 2017 EX-PLAT is my wife's DD and she's short stuff, fitting in the seat just fine, but I do feel the seat is short myself, just like most Ford products are now, except for the pickups, which is what i drive.
It might be a weight-saving thing ford is doing...
We purchased our 2016 in March and one of my biggest complaints is with the front seats. They just aren't comfortable at all. I am 5'10"/180lbs and the seats still hit too far up my thighs. I think the main issue (for me) is that the side bolsters on the seat bottom press into my thighs too much. I think taking a long trip in this vehicle is going to be very uncomfortable. Wish there was something that could be done (aside from trading the vehicle for something else).
