I'm pretty excited, I'm the proud new owner of a 2017 explorer sport. Every option except rear console.
Back in 2012 when they announced the explorer sport, I was determined to buy one when they launched. I couldn't strike a deal, so I ended up buying a 13 grand Cherokee trail hawk Hemi.
I should probably mention, I don't drive these SUV's I speak of daily, it's my wife's DD.
Fast forward to 2016, I have two young boys playing travel hockey year round, and my family hauler is a grand Cherokee I bought because I was smitten with it and it's about as practical as multiple butt holes.
So my first choice was a Denali or Burby, but the wife wasn't comfortable with the length. She would have gone with it if I wanted, but I don't have to drive it daily ...she does. We ended up discussing the explorer we looked at before the hawk, so we end up at a ford dealership and she falls in love.....with a platinum.
I convince her the sport is where it's at, we're young and hip , and platinum's are for old folgies
We end up having the dealer locate a 17 sport loaded.
So we're 1200 miles in. On day one on the way to hockey practice we stopped at the weathertech factory store and grabbed the complete liner package. On day two we had the windshield tinted w/ 70% 3m crystalline, and all other windows tinted with 3m 15%.
I also ordered blacked out badges immediately. The Livernois tuner is also on its way. I'm going to try to somewhat document the build in this thread ...
