Changed thermostat housings, now have a LOUD ticking
Hi,
I replaced the lower & upper thermostat housings and thermostat in my 2006 Explorer, everything appeared to go well. When I start it up, I am getting a really LOUD ticking coming from the generator or alternator, not sure which. The ticking goes away if I accelerate above 1,500 RPM's.
I did not remove any belts, loosen any other bolts when I replaced the housings. It never made any noise prior to this.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
