This is my first post and I am a new 2015 Sport owner. The only disappointment I have with the vehicle is with the overall lack of volume the sony stereo system provides. Quality of the sound it provides is acceptable but many times I go to turn up a good song and I cant believe I'm all ready at the max volume. I have no my keys programed and the speed volume adjustment is off. I do not see any other complaints in the forum about this issue AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

I've been pretty happy with the stock system. It's very clear, has good bass, and sounds good in all seats. I probably only turn it up 50% though and only when I'm driving alone. Do you experience low volume using all inputs or just one? I've heard of factory systems having low volume over blue-tooth before.

A system that is promoted as a 390 watt premium system should not have any type of volume issues.
I have had many vehicles and I am not questioning the quality of sound the system puts out, it is good. But system lacks what I call acceptable volume output. I am trying to get specs from ford and sony neither can provide documented evidence or proof of there stereo output.

I just bought a 2015 explorer sport and I gotta say I'm really happy with the stereo...I was just commenting to my wife how good it sounded and I didn't even have the volume past halfway....

max volume sux im with you the system is terrible get a good song you want to rock out to and bam Max Volume lol....I m looking into the JL Audio Stealthbox I hear they might be able to to the trick...

I had PDA Roadgear here in Denver install a JL Audio Stealthbox and JL amp. I’m very happy with it. Tremendous bass - volume, depth, impact. I used to have the volume at 30 which is the max, now I am typically in the 20 to 25 range. I am not a big fan of the Sony speakers, and I think I can live with them for a year or perhaps longer. I had a remote knob installed to control the base and highly recommend it. I adjusted for every CD and sometimes for individual songs. Please note that you get much better sound from CDs then from your phone via Bluetooth. If you are into music and into stereo, it is a very worthy upgrade.

Does anyone have a wiring color code for the Sony system? I'm installing a sub and amp but cannot find a diagram anywhere! I have a '14 Limited with the Sony system.

I bought my 15 Limited new from the factory and hated the sound quality from day one. It had a tinny quality to it and the volume didn't help nor was the surround what I thought it should be for this top of the line system. Fast forward about a year and I get in the truck to go to work and nothing happens. Open the hood and the battery had literally melted in on itself at the +post. Dealer replaced the battery and immediately noticed I had a nice sounding system! My battery was defective from day one. After it was replaced problem was solved.
