Fuel Sending Unit

Hey everyone, I'm new here and have been enjoying my 2013 Sport for about 2.5 yrs now. Over the past few months I have been having issues with a sporadic fuel level reading and I'm wondering if anyone has had to replace their fuel sending units? If you had a dealer or DIY? Any information or repair guides to help point me in the right path of how to remove the drive shaft, exhaust and any other parts that must be removed?

There was a recall on the fuel sending unit but I can't recall what year. Go to the Ford Owner site and sign up with your VIN and you'll find a section where the recalls for your car are listed.
