My 1998 Explorer is just sitting in front of my place till I can save enough $$$ to have her towed to a mechanic. What should I do to ensure, as much as possible, that the "sitting" won't harm her? ( She's already been sitting there for quite a while. ) I live in the desert so there's very little moisture.

Read up on "winterizing" a motorcycle. Good basic steps.
For sure put the battery on a maintainer, keep up the tire pressure and watch for critters eating your wiring.
