I have a 2006 xlt with the 4.6L engine. I have the all-too-common cam phaser noise and after changing my oil last week it has gotten louder. I use 10w-30 semi-synthetic oil normally for added thickness but this time I was a 1/2 quart short on oil (spilled it) and I messed up and added a little Marvel Mystery oil. I was quite surprised when I checked my oil today and its the consistency of water. I didn't know Marvel could thin out my oil so much. my oil doesn't look or smell any different its just really runny. Is there an additive I can use to thicken my oil without harming my motor?
