New 2017 Explorer Sport - FOB issues

I just bought a new 2017 explorer sport. I live in colorado.

Having a very difficult time finding out how to lock my FOB inside the vehicle. Every other ford allowed this. This one automatically unlocks the doors when I attempt keep the fob inside.

Why have keyless entry if you can't lock the fob inside?

Did you try putting it in the fob holder in the center console? I haven't tried that, but thought maybe that would work.

Actually, just read something. Leave it in the vehicle, Shut the door, then use the keypad on the outside of the door to lock it. I think that's what I did once too. With your code, you can lock and unlock it too
