Good evening, just found your forum, we recently got a deal on a 2016 explorer sport, 3.5 ecobeast, took it to Pismo a month ago, uncovered the trailer hitch, brought a 20' steel chocker, so my son could yank us, if necessary. I wanted to see if the "sand mode" works. (my other truck is a 1993 f 150 4x4) Planned on airing down the stock Michelins, but didn't need to. Drove in the deep stuff, no problem. I think I kind of surprised the Jeep guys. I'm impressed, Ford really did their homework on this drive system. I wanted to change out the 20" wheels, but they work. The wide front tires did a good job floating on the sand, 365 horsepower certainly helped too.
