I have a 2017 platinum edition. One of the third row seats does not move. The dealer investigated and said the controller was the problem. I asked are you sure it is not the motor? They said yep. I swallowed hard and said ok change it. They had it for a day and said they don’t know what the problem is. They have to call Ford because the protocol is to replace the controller then... I am wondering if I can go to the junk yard and get a manual seat and install that in its place. It would be way less money.

If you're confident you could find the same upholstery, maybe but it might affect resale value with non matching seats.

Relocating the upholstery should be easy. It looks like the bolts will fit up. I just don’t want an error code in the computer to show up.
