2014 Explorer Sport.

OEM tire size is 255/50/20

I bought some 20x10 and 285/50/20 and the tire shop said they “have a chance” to run so they wouldn’t mount them.

Anyone ever tan this tire size before I waste my time mounting them myself and they rub like crazy?

Any issues if so?

So if you want to measure off of the OE wheels and tires to see if they will fit. The 285/50R20 is probably going to be the max tire fitment so it's going to be close.

Measure from the top of the tire about .59inches up towards the fender, take into consideration of suspension compression. (15mm)

Measure from the inside of the sidewall to the suspension components, .43 inches. Make sure you won't hit the inner fenderwell or suspension. (11mm) (Measure this at full right or left turn)

Measure from the outside sidewall .74 inches, make sure at full turn it's not going to hit the corner of the fender. (19mm)

The wheels are only an inch wider as the factory wheels are 20x9, but the OE offset is +44mm.
