Upgrade to Sync 3 from Ford MyTouch

I’ve got a 2015 Ford Explorer with the MyTouch system in it, and after doing different research I know I can totally add Sync 3 to the vehicle, but I’ve gotten the impression it is possible to add 4G LTE and FordPass functionality with the Sync 3 (Gen 4) APIM. Has anyone done this or can confirm or deny that?
