Going home for one week soon and have a "vacation" stop on our home wifi. I have Explorer set up as hotspot which works ok when in car traveling. My question is would it work while parked the attached garage and we are in the house?

If the car is off, the hot pot will not work. If you turn the car on, it will work as a normal wifi router.
