We had an issue with our 22 Explorer. The dome lights do not come on when opening any side door or the rear lift gate. The dealer told us there is a switch next to the headlight switch to control the dome light functionality. However, this was wrong. Our Explorer has a sunroof and a control panel above the mirror which also contains the front dome lights. This panel also has a button to disable the dome lights when the doors are open. The button is on the right side toward the front of the vehicle. It glows orange when the lights are disabled. Press it so the orange light is out and the dome lights will activate when any door is opened.
